The notion that we must actively strive to make things happen in our lives while staying fully aware that it is Allah Almighty who grants us the ability to do so is both empowering and humbling. It’s a reminder that we are entrusted with potential, with dreams, and with the capacity to create change—but that all of this is a loan from our Lord and Creator.
The Balance Between Action and Reliance
One of the key themes I discuss is the misconception that we can sit back and passively wait for things to happen, simply because we believe in God’s will. This attitude, unfortunately, leads many to a life of stagnation, where they miss out on the opportunities and responsibilities that come with being a believer. Islam teaches us to take initiative, to act with intention, and to trust in the Divine plan after we have done our part. As the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “Tie your camel and trust in Allah,” (Tirmidhi). This hadith perfectly encapsulates the balance we must strike—taking practical steps in our lives while placing our trust in the Almighty for the results.
Why Action Matters
In the video, I challenge the common misconception that faith alone, without effort, is enough. While faith is undoubtedly central to our lives as Muslims, it must be accompanied by action. Allah Almighty has given us the tools, the intellect, the drive, and the opportunities to make things happen. It is our duty to use these gifts to their fullest potential. Whether it’s pursuing a dream, making positive changes in our communities, or striving for personal growth, we must do so with the understanding that our efforts are supported by the power of the Divine.

When we succeed, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking, “I did this.” However, as believers, we must always remember that it is God who allows us to succeed. This awareness keeps us grounded and grateful, and it deepens our relationship with our Creator.

Another critical point I emphasize is the danger of complacency, which can easily creep in when we misunderstand the concept of reliance on the Divine. Too often, Muslims fall into the mindset that if something is meant for them, it will simply happen without any effort on their part. This passive approach is not only unproductive but also contrary to the teachings of Islam. Our Lord and Creator expects us to strive, to put in the work, and to be proactive in our lives. It is through this effort that we demonstrate our trust in God’s plan, as we align our actions with His guidance.

Finally, it’s essential to recognize that every success, every achievement, and every step forward is an opportunity to express gratitude to Allah Almighty. The more we accomplish, the more reasons we have to be thankful, as it is only by God’s mercy that we are able to achieve anything at all. Just wanted to share a thought.
As a teacher of many years, I am amazed at how we as humans can see, visualise something when we put our minds to it – get degree, Masters. PhD. Become an accountant, Dr, engineer. We carry it through to getting married, house, children, car, holidays ect But once this has been achieved we find it difficult to ‘know’ or even explore further growth, personal growth. I’m as guilty as the next person and know I have to work at it everyday to stop myself being mislead by was-wasa or other negative influences.

I recently have found your content and it’s great. I have been using many of these practices you share and have utilized the energies from Allah that are around us. However, it seems that I have reached a stuck in my life which been ongoing for years. So when does destiny play a role. Action, manifestation visualization are integral parts towards growth and the possibility of change or push to our goals. But I find myself continuously pushing and find myself stuck on a loop. Nothing is changing and has taken a toll on me. As this society and our Muslim communities view everyone through a lens of materialistic success.
